Graham is here!!

The order of the pics is a little messy b/c they came from two different cameras...

Well, I finally made it downstairs with the little guy to update my blog. Just coming down here was like packing for a 4 day vacation....welcome to my new life!!
Hello all! It's been too long!

So, last time I posted I probably mentioned that I was planning to have a C Section. My parents and brother were coming in on Thursday and I was going on Saturday to have Graham....well, he had a different plan. :) Michael and I went in the Friday before to do a weight check for Graham and the doctor proceeded to tell me that I was having contractions and dialated. Holy cow!! So, long story short, we stayed VERY busy that weekend, bike riding and a Mets game...along with many other activities to move this process along! Tuesday afternoon I was headed over to Brooke and Tripps to meet Michael for dinner..until my water broke, that is. So, I couldn't get a hold of Michael...or Brooke..or my parents. Luckily I got a hold of Tripp who works across the hall from Wags. Being the planner that I am, my house was already clean (thank God) and my bags were already packed. So...what to do until Wags gets home from his 20 minute commute??? Well, wipe down the countertops and straighten my hair of course!! :)
We got to the hospital, and my contractions started picking up pretty rapidly. I tried to tough it out and wait for the epidural b/c I had a huge fear of it wearing off by the time he made is way out. So about 11, I had the epidural and LIFE WAS GOOD! Apparently we had a tiny scare, I didn't feel so well (they said I was white as a ghost), and Graham's heart rate had dropped signifigantly. They later told me they were prepping me for a C-Section but it came back up and we were good to go. Wags and I decided to get a little shut eye, the nurse came in about 2 to check me and said, "Oh my, do you not feel anything?? His head is right there and were ready to push!" I love modern medicine because I didn't feel a thing!! Dr. Plotnitskiy came in, we pushed for maybe 20 minutes and the rest is history!!
The only time I got sad was when the nurse asked me if we had anyone waiting in the waiting room....and I said no :( However, what a special time for Michael and I, something that we will always remember that just the two of us got to experience together. He was such a huge support for me and handled everything perfectly (which I wasn't surprised). I think he even cried...shhh, don't tell :)
My parents were planning on coming on that Thursday however they had just put my mom's mom in Hospice that week. So, Mom and I talked and since I had already had Graham, I insisted on her staying there with her mother. I couldn't imagine if something happened to her while she was in NY. My grandmother just passed away this past Friday, so my parents have yet to meet Graham...however, they are coming soon to see him!! My brother came, which was wonderful to have him here when we took Graham home from the hospital. Wags' mom and grandmother just left and were such a HUGE help for us!! They left meals for weeks..and to that I am very grateful!!
Thank you all for your prayers for Graham. He was perfectly healthy, weighing 7'15, 20 inches long and sweet chubby cheeks!

I will post more this week about "parenthood", but I'm going to catch a nap now while he is napping!
